While earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Design Institute of San Diego, Fernanda gained practical experience working for a high-end designer in La Jolla, CA. She gained insight into design function and aesthetics, and it was during this period that she learned the importance of developing strong client relationships.
Always willing to embrace a new challenge, Fernanda embarked on the next phase of her career, and began working independently on both residential and commercial projects. She gaining entrée into the field of Hospitality design as a consultant for a well-respected architectural firm in San Diego.
Fernanda’s style, which can fittingly be described as “Urban Chic”, paired with her love of textiles, color, pattern, and texture, captured the attention of Aja Design owner Adi Pourfard. Under Adi’s mentoring, Fernanda has become an expert in her adopted field, and is well versed at weaving techniques, dyes, textiles, and logistics. Working at Aja affords Fernanda the opportunity to apply her formal training as an Interior Designer, developing an array of custom products for both private and hospitality clients.
Fernanda attributes her sophisticated, worldly designs to her passion for international travel. This Brazilian born designer of Italian-Portuguese decent has globetrotted around 17 different countries, each of which has inspired her cosmopolitan style.
Fernanda currently lives in San Diego with her husband and daughter.
